Significance Of Our Name

In case you’ve been wondering where our website title comes from, I’ve put together a post to tell you a little bit about the idea and it’s significance. It came from a humble beginning, my older sister and I had the bright idea a long time ago to start a band and call it Disciple Daughters. That never really took off, and the concept of creating a real band lost its luster and the Disciple Daughters were soon forgotten. When I was in elementary school, a group of my friends decided to create a Bible study club so that we could share Christ with other kids. My friends, Hailey and Kailey, knew we needed a catchy name that would interest the kids at our school, specifically the other girls. My mind immediately jumped to the name Disciple Daughters. I was confident that it was the right name for our group and after pitching my idea to Hailey and Kailey, we all agreed that our new Bible Study would be called Disciple Daughters. Over the years, the name Disciple Daughters has come to mean more to us than it did in elementary school. Now, whenever we see our name we are reminded that we are called to make disciples of all nations┬álike it says in Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV).

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. “

Our name is now representative of who we are in Christ. We are disciples, who have been called to make disciples. We are Daughters of the Most High King and we belong to him. Nothing can ever take that away. So join us on this journey as we seek to encourage you in your walk with Christ and teach you what God is teaching us about making disciples. We hope that your walk with Christ will be influenced for the better by what we have chosen to include on this website.

Go make disciples!
